Those unis and field doe. Nice job bouncing back with two straight wins! 28 straight points is impressive
I wasn't sure how the teal on teal look would go, but it was great. Both the home colors (black & teal) blend perfectly with the field and environment

Thanks for checking in bro!

Solid back-to-back wins. Interesting to see Morris get the call in that one after 3 INTs by Brown.
Brown left the game with an injury. He was eligible to return, but was a high injury risk. We'd already gotten the lead and I didn't want to risk him getting hurt for longer. Morris lucked out with the screen pass popping, but this is still Emmett's team.....:shifty:

Good start to the season, but Emmett Brown is going to have to cut back on those interceptions if the team wants to get some bigger wins.

Also, [ br][\br] is a line break.
Most definitely. Part of that is me - using new passing controls. Part is his 85 THP :drose:

And thanks for the tip - definitely don't know much about coding. Those line breaks were annoying lol

If it ain't Coastal, it ain't Carolina :blessed:

P.S. Just dawned on me that you've got Jalen John on your squad. Loved using him at UMass.
CINO!

He's been solid. Not explosive, but dependable. Him and Simpkins make a great 1-2 punch when healthy

You Never Forget Your First

Conway, SC. - "CINO! CINO! CINO!" echoed from the sideline as Spencer Yeast, a Greensboro, North Carolina native, celebrated Coastal Carolina's dramatic 28-21 victory over East Carolina on Saturday. Yeast, ranked as the 71st prospect in North Carolina and 1,727th nationally, was on campus for his official visit and didn't wait long to make his intentions known.

"I already told Coach Vaughn, but I've got an announcement for everyone," the 5'6" wide receiver posted on his X account. "I'm heading to Conway, baby!"

In an interview with his high school paper, Yeast credited the environment at Coastal Carolina and the relentless confidence of new head coach Kade Vaughn for sealing his decision—even before scheduled visits to Duke and East Carolina, who finished second and third respectively.

"Seeing Coach Vaughn on the sideline, keeping his guys locked in despite the first-half struggles, made a huge impression," Yeast explained. "He’s the kind of coach who makes you believe anything is possible, even when the odds are stacked against you."

Coach Vaughn expressed excitement about Yeast's commitment but emphasized the broader goal of the program.

"We're thrilled to add Spencer to the family," Vaughn confirmed. "But this is just the start. Priority number one has always been keeping local talent at home. We hope Spence is the first of many who recognize the opportunities here on the Teal Turf."

Despite being undersized at 5'6" and 177 pounds and lacking elite speed, Yeast is highly regarded as a "route artist" who relies on his precise route-running and reliable hands to create separation rather than pure athleticism.

"Honestly, he reminds me of myself,"
joked Vaughn, quickly adding, "Though I've still got four inches and twenty-five pounds on him."

Yeast may be the first commit of the recruiting class, but Coastal Carolina appears close to landing another local talent—tight end Derrick Slaughter from Concord, North Carolina. Slaughter attended Saturday’s thrilling comeback and, although he didn't immediately commit alongside Yeast, reports indicate he's expected to officially join Coastal in the coming weeks with no significant competition from other programs.

Additionally, Coastal Carolina is reportedly leading significantly for their top two remaining targets: athlete Dalton Dexter and cornerback Malik Northrop. Both players recently narrowed their recruitment lists to five schools, with Coastal emerging as the clear favorite.

Mobile, AL. - The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers had made a habit of overcoming sloppy first halves with dramatic second-half rallies. However, that trend came to an end in Mobile, as the South Alabama Jaguars staged their own late comeback, led by quarterback Bishop Davenport’s two fourth-quarter rushing touchdowns. Davenport’s second score came with just 47 seconds remaining, leaving Coastal facing a 27-24 deficit.

“He was electric, no doubt about it,” admitted Coastal head coach Kade Vaughn postgame. “Not to get too candid, but we threw everything at him—man, zone, press, blitz—he had an answer every time. Some games you just have to grin and bear it, then get back to work.”

South Alabama opened the contest with a methodical 12-play drive, eating over six minutes off the clock, but Coastal’s defense stiffened, holding the Jaguars to a 23-yard field goal. Coastal responded with their own promising drive, fueled by Ja’Vin Simpkins and Jalen Johns, but quarterback Emmett Brown threw his sixth interception of the season, abruptly ending the scoring threat.

The Jaguars quickly capitalized when Devin Voisin outmuscled cornerback Robby Washington for an 82-yard touchdown reception, pushing South Alabama’s lead to 10-0.

Brown immediately bounced back, connecting with Simpkins for a 39-yard pass to set up Simpkins' 4 yard rushing touchdown shortly thereafter, cutting the deficit to 10-7. After forcing a punt, Brown led the Chants on a 95-yard drive, highlighted by an 82-yard touchdown pass to Malick Meiga, giving Coastal a 14-10 advantage.

Momentum stalled again for Coastal when Brown threw his seventh interception, leading directly to a 43-yard Jaguars field goal, narrowing the gap to 14-13. Coastal mounted a spirited drive late in the half but ran out of time at the Jaguars’ 3-yard line, failing to extend their lead.

The Chanticleers opened the third quarter with a lengthy 14-play drive that stalled, resulting in a 42-yard field goal and a modest 17-13 lead. The defense responded strongly when Dre Pinckney forced a fumble, but Coastal couldn’t capitalize, forced into another punt.

South Alabama responded emphatically, as Davenport engineered a stunning 95-yard drive capped by his 2-yard touchdown run, reclaiming the lead at 20-17. Coastal battled back again, with Simpkins scoring his second rushing touchdown to regain a 24-20 advantage.

Twelve plays later, with Davenport completing seven of his nine passes for 78 yards, the South Alabama Jaguars faced a pivotal moment: fourth-and-goal from the Coastal 7-yard line, trailing by four points with just 52 seconds remaining. Davenport had thrown his first two incompletions of the second half moments earlier, adding to just four total incompletions for the entire game.

The Jaguars spread the field with five receivers. Coastal’s secondary was tight, and initial protection was solid. However, as pressure intensified, Davenport spotted an opening and decisively took off, sprinting seven yards into the end zone to put South Alabama ahead 27-24.

With limited time remaining, Coastal’s offense had one final chance, but three consecutive incompletions forced quarterback Emmett Brown into a desperate scramble that ended in a sack. Just like that, the magic Coach Kade Vaughn had instilled in these Chanticleers vanished.

“It hurts, no doubt,” Vaughn admitted afterward. “The last couple of weeks made us believe we’d always find a way. But losses remind you what you’re fighting for. We’ll be back in the film room first thing Monday—I’ll be there tonight. I promise, we may be down, but we’re definitely getting back up.”

Coastal will have ample time to lick their wounds and re-asses their defensive strategy with an early bye next week before facing Old Dominion in Norfolk for Week Six.

Image
As the interceptions pile up for Emmett Brown, the question lingers. How long a leash does he have in Conway?

Image
Just when you think Emmett Brown's run out of mojo, he lobs a perfect go route into the breadbasket for a touchdown.

Image
Coastal's secondary continues to struggle against the pass - deep jump balls in particular - as Bishop Davenport completed 87% of his passes on the day.

Tough loss there, especially giving up the last score with less than a minute left
