since the last two patches I can't play defense. anything I do the CPU has a counter for and if they don't? lets just have a user defender not cover someone so its a wide open tuddy. or truck five guys on his way to the end zone.
/rant.
fuck ohio state.
it be your own sometimes.
he got up - too bad that rarely ever happens. Usually they just get speared in the back and drop it.

Columbus, OH. - In a game defined by momentum swings, it was the Ohio State Buckeyes who delivered the final blow, outlasting Coastal Carolina 47-41 in overtime.
The Chanticleers struck first, cashing in on a pair of Coco Magnuson fumbles to jump ahead 9-0. But red zone miscues — including two touchdowns erased by holding flags — left points on the table. That opened the door for Ohio State, and the Buckeyes slammed through. Magnuson ripped off a 27-yard burst to set up a touchdown, then hit Elton Alabi on a coverage bust for a walk-in score. One play later, Nick Golladay fumbled and Ohio State returned it for six. In the span of minutes, Coastal’s lead flipped to a 21-9 Buckeye advantage, and the Horseshoe roared.
To Coastal’s credit, they answered. A methodical touchdown drive quieted the crowd, and even after OSU tacked on a field goal before halftime, the Chants went into the break down just 24-16.
The third quarter belonged to Coastal. Golladay steadied with a touchdown pass, then hitting a two-point try to tie it. A field goal to drive later allowed Coastal to grab their first lead since the 2nd quarter. A Magnuson overthrow turned into an interception for Randy Granger, and Coastal cashed it in to suddenly surge ahead 34-21.
But Ohio State wasn’t done. After Coastal matched Ohio State 4th Q field goal the Buckeyes finally got moving. Alex Querio torched DE Eric Wheat in coverage for a 73-yard touchdown, then Magnuson snuck in from the one to tie it after a late three-and-out gave the Buckeyes life.
Golladay had a chance to win it in regulation, moving the Chants into OSU territory. But on 1st and 10 from the 37, he took a deep shot to Kamryn Petty. Miscommunication left Petty streaking while CB Kyle Ramsour leapt for the interception to force extra football.
Overtime proved fatal. Coastal had the first possession, and on the very first snap, Golladay coughed up his foruth turnover of the night. Four plays later, Ohio State walked it off with the clinching score.
“It’s hard to win games when the opposition gets a big play whenever they need it,” Vaughn said afterward. “Low-IQ plays on our part. Simple mistakes on the defense. And of course, you can’t compound it with turnovers.”
Coastal now limps back to Conway at 2-1, bracing for Florida State and QB Frank Powell — the same Powell who shredded them for 538 yards and five touchdowns last season.

Petty kept running, never even reacting to the pass, while Ramsour slammed the door on a game winning drive.

Golladay and Petty were cooking until the late miscue with this 4 yard swing pass giving Coastal a double digit lead.

Maybe someone should cover the Heisman contender?

Conway, SC. - The Coastal Carolina defense finally looked like itself again. After back-to-back weeks giving up over 400 passing yards, Tony White’s unit buckled down on The Teal and suffocated Florida State, holding the Seminoles to just 285 total yards in a 37-10 bounce-back win.
“We made some adjustments and just focused on keeping everything in front of us,” White explained. “Give up the underneath stuff, then rally to the ball. When they did take shots downfield, we hit home with pressure.”
Vaughn was equally blunt. “Simple strategy on paper, tough to execute. But after last year? We wanted this one,” he said, pointing back to the humiliation of Frank Powell torching them for 500-plus yards in 2029.
The defense fixed its leak, but a new concern emerged on the other side of the ball. Senior QB Nick Golladay turned in a mixed bag — 353 yards of total offense and 37 points, but three red-zone interceptions that killed scoring drives. Two were flat overthrows, the third bounced off his receiver’s hands and into a defender’s lap.
“Two of those are on him,” Vaughn said postgame. “The other? Wideout’s got to make the play — both hands on it, just got rocked. But the overthrows? All Nick. Mechanics have to tighten up, or that’s going to cost us.”
Even with the turnovers, Florida State never truly threatened. Coastal’s bend-but-don’t-break approach held the Seminoles to a single touchdown and a field goal, while the offense piled on enough points to cruise comfortably to the finish.
Now the Chanticleers turn their attention to another old foe. Rival Liberty heads to Conway next week, bringing plenty of bad blood — and a chance for Coastal to keep the momentum rolling while cleaning up their ball security issues.

Petty put in work on special teams through with this 78 yard return. "Getting caught by the punter? Couldn't be me," joked Petty after the game.

Three interceptions kept a good day from being a great one for the Chanticleers.

After the redzone INT near the end of the 1st half, Coastal's defense came up big with the safety and the offense came through with another touchdown to stretch the lead to 30-7 before the break.
