Racing Louisville Claims The Top Spot In The NWSL Rankings After A Win Over Gotham FC
NWSL, Matchday 14: June 22, 2031 - Lynn Family Stadium, Louisville, KY

Erëleta Memeti comes up clutch with a goal after Gotham's defender blocked a prior shot attempt.
LOUISVILLE — The top two teams in the NWSL battled for the top of the table in today's match between Racing Louisville & Gotham FC.
Despite a balanced 50/50 percentage on possession, Racing Louisville's defense frustrated Gotham FC's offense as they held the #1 team to only 2 shot attempts.
Regina van Eijk saved both shot attempts & now adds another tally on her list of clean sheets this season, increasing her total to 5, positioning her in 2nd among keepers in the NWSL.
Racing Louisville struck first early in the second half as Erëleta Memeti found the net for her 6th goal of the season after Ella Palis' shot attempt was blocked right in front of her.
"It was a stellar recovery goal.." Racing's head coach, Filipa Patão, said after today's match against Gotham. "She's a special player & this team wouldn't be here today without her."
Louisville entered the match trailing Gotham 1 point in the standings for the top spot in the league. A loss would've propelled Gotham's position further, a draw would've kept things the same, but Racing pulled off the victory & secured 3 points to claim the NWSL' top position.
Racing will return to the pitch on June 28th as they travel to Portland & face the Thorns. Louisville defeated the Thorns 2-1 on May 31st. It's also a rematch of last season's NWSL championship, that saw Racing Louisville claim the trophy after Jule Brand's goal took the lead at the 114th minute.

Nice to get a win like that. Any means necessary. I second the call for extra Lehmann coverage.

Racing's domination has been trying to make the NWSL the best league for women's soccer worldwide but we can't promise the best of the best every match

You too?!
I love Connesson as my striker but 2 votes against 0 makes me believe it's time to return Lehmann to the starting lineup

No man ever said anything about Adèle
