4 Championships Later, Racing Louisville Sells Star Players Taylor Flint & Scarlett Camberos.



It's a sad day in Louisville as the club has announced the departure of two fan favorites.

Racing Louisville FC went from being a new team in the NWSL to one of the best teams in the world once Filipa Patão took over in 2024.

It's no coincidence that throughout her success, two faces new to Louisville also joined the club in 2024: Taylor Flint & Scarlett Camberos.

Taylor Flint, (then Kornieck) joined Racing Louisville FC in a trade from the San Diego Wave on January 22, 2024, becoming a key midfielder for the team from her first season onward.

Scarlett Camberos signed as a free agent shortly after in February.

While the two took time to grow as players in the NWSL, they each served a key purpose in Louisville's national success as the club has gone on to win 4 championships in the past 5 years.

Flint, known as one of the toughest defenders in the NWSL, scored one of the clutchest goals in NWSL' history as she found the net at the 119' minute of the semi-finals against the KC Current that forced a PK shootout.



Racing Louisville went on to win the championship against the Washington Spirit with a dominating 4-0 victory, including a goal from Flint at the 8' minute mark.

Scarlett Camberos, on the other hand, brought a special talent on the offensive end.



She finished with her best scoring season since joining Louisville at second in goals with 10 behind team captain' Ella Palis (11).

While Patão is confident in the decision to sell the players (Flint to Real Madrid FC for $300K & Camberos to Paris Saint-Germain for $400K), it still leaves a whole in the hearts of many Louisville fans.

With another season blooming, what can she put together & improve this team for another chance at repeating for the NWSL title?

Defense Wins Championships, & Patão Adds 3 Internationals To Racing Louisville's Backline For 2031



After the departure of two of the best players in the world, Racing Louisville has bounced back with the announcement of three defenders.

Returning to Louisville is RB Anouk Denton, who played as a defender for the Louisville Cardinals from 2021-2022. Denton signed a 4-year deal with Racing at a $6.5K weekly wage agreement.



Also joining the club next season is LB Dilara Açikgöz with a 4-year deal & a $6.4K weekly wage.



& filling in some depth is LB Courtney Nevin, joining Racing Louisville on a 3-year deal & a $5.5K weekly wage.
