Conway, SC. -Fresh off a grind-it-out 32–20 win in Dallas, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers returned home to The Teal for a rivalry clash with Liberty that proved far less stressful.

From the opening snap, Coastal’s offense looked unstoppable. Bryce Underwood torched the Flames for 260 passing yards and five first-half touchdowns, three of them to tight end Trishtin Glass, as the Chanticleers raced out to a commanding 35–0 halftime lead. The only blemishes in the first two quarters were a punt and a late interception — otherwise, it was all teal dominance.

With the game well in hand, Coastal eased off the throttle in the second half but still rolled to a 49–10 victory. Liberty managed its lone touchdown against Coastal’s reserves, a small consolation in an otherwise lopsided affair.

The Chanticleers now turn their attention to a marquee matchup with Florida. The Gators come to Conway carrying not only SEC pedigree but also a little extra tension — head coach Chris Klieman was among those who tipped off the NCAA during last year’s NIL probe into Coastal, adding fuel to what’s already shaping up to be a charged Week 4 showdown.

It was a rough day for Khalil Wilkins who absorbed 4 sacks and threw a pair of interception in the lopsided loss.

Conway, SC. - Dowell Loggains may have taken most of the heat for blowing the whistle on Coastal Carolina’s NIL “poker fund,” but the Chants faithful made sure Florida head coach Chris Klieman didn’t escape their wrath. The boos rained down as Klieman entered Brooks Stadium, with 21 Savage’s Snitches & Rats blaring on repeat during key downs — a pointed reminder of his role in last year’s NCAA probe.

On the field, Coastal wasted no time setting the tone. The opening drive stretched 10 plays, highlighted by a clutch grab from freshman wideout Matthew Hape. The payoff came in chaotic fashion: Jeremiah McClellan took a brutal hit trying to secure a slant near the goal line, the ball popped free, and tight end Trishtin Glass snagged it out of midair before muscling into the end zone.

“Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good,” Bryce Underwood laughed at halftime, with Coastal already cruising 21–0.

Florida’s only real spark came early in the third quarter. Underwood lost a fumble while scrambling for a 1st down, and safety Josiah Davis scooped it up, racing 53 yards for a touchdown. Replays seemed to show Underwood was down before the ball came loose, but after a failed challenge, the call stood.

“I don’t think he’s used to losing many gambles like that,” quipped play-by-play man Joe Cashion as head coach Kade Vaughn lit into the officials.

The controversy barely lingered. On the very next drive, Underwood hit Dareon Doctson on a swing pass that turned into a 36-yard gain, sparking another Coastal touchdown to snuff out any chance of a Florida rally.

Late in the fourth, with the Gators desperate for a consolation score, quarterback Zach Abriamiri rolled out toward the end zone — only to be crushed by safety Dalton Dexter, who jarred the ball loose and effectively ended the night. To rub salt in the wound, Underwood ripped off a 42-yard scramble on the ensuing drive, setting up Coastal’s final touchdown in a dominant 42–7 win.

When asked about the 4–0 start, Vaughn kept his eyes forward.

“Not to slight our opponents to start the year — well, except for one — but this is where we expected to be. Take care of business in August and September, then buckle down in October and November. The hard part’s still ahead. Job’s not finished.”

The Chanticleers now leave The Teal behind for their first West Coast trip of the season — a primetime clash with the USC Trojans (2–1) at the L.A. Coliseum.
