McQUEEN SWEEPS BRISTOL FOR EMOTIONAL HOMETOWN PLAYOFF TRIUMPH
Image
LOGAN McQUEEN III DOMINATES UNDER THE LIGHTS, SWEEPING THE STAGES AND PUNCHING HIS ROUND OF 8 TICKET

Bristol Motor Speedway has been the home track of many unforgettable moments, but for Logan McQueen III, Thursday night’s UNOH 200 might become the one that defines the start of his playoff legacy.

Just five days removed from a nightmare at Darlington, McQueen arrived at The Last Great Colosseum with pressure, expectation, and an entire hometown section of family and friends watching from the Turn 4 grandstands. What followed was nothing short of a statement.

The No. 51 Horizon Hobby / Peak Motorsports Chevrolet was untouchable from the moment it rolled onto the concrete.

McQueen blistered the field in qualifying, earning his third pole of the season with a 15.920-second lap. Once the green flag fell, the race quickly became a showcase of precision driving and raw pace.

Controlled.

Commanding.

Clinical.

McQueen swept both stages and then dominated the final run, slicing through lapped traffic and managing pace while keeping Kyle Busch and Corey Heim firmly behind him. For a driver who grew up minutes away, winning at Bristol during the playoffs, in front of family members who watched him race short tracks as a teenager, made the moment even more powerful.

After a week defined by chaos at Darlington, McQueen flipped the narrative on its head with one of the most complete performances of the season.

His victory automatically advances the No. 51 team into the Round of 8, relieving the pressure and setting the tone for the remainder of the playoffs.

Good recovery after that Darlington disaster. Hope we can hold off Heim. A bit unrealistic with Chastain and Busch in there but fun having to beat those guys too

NASCAR CRAFTSMAN TRUCK SERIES RACE RECAP
EJP 175 | New Hampshire Motor Speedway

McQUEEN’S FRESH TIRES FURY FALLS JUST SHORT IN LOUDON THRILLER
Image
STRATEGY SWINGS, A LATE CAUTION, AND A 17TH-TO-3RD CHARGE DEFINE McQUEEN’S LOUDON AFTERNOON

New Hampshire Motor Speedway has built a reputation as a place where strategy wins races, and Saturday’s EJP 175 delivered another absolute chess match that saw Logan McQueen III nearly steal a victory with one of the most ferocious late-race charges of the season.

McQueen and the No. 51 Horizon Hobby / Peak Motorsports Chevrolet looked poised to win after sweeping both stages with commanding pace. But as the final run approached, crew chief Alex Ward made the bold call: right-side tires and a splash of fuel, anticipating a long green-flag finish.

It was the winning move, until it wasn’t.

Most of the field stayed out. McQueen restarted 17th… and then the caution flew just a few laps later. Suddenly, every truck could make it on fuel. The advantage of the early pit call evaporated.

What didn’t evaporate was McQueen’s speed.

With fresh right sides and raw determination, McQueen sliced through traffic like a buzzsaw, passing fourteen trucks in rapid succession. By the final lap, he had run down the leaders, Layne Riggs and Ty Majeski, and was glued to their back bumpers as the white flag waved.

He sent the No. 51 deep into Turns 3 and 4, searching for the drive off the corner that would complete the comeback.

But New Hampshire’s long, flat exit offered the leaders just enough grip.

McQueen crossed the line third, a breathtaking charge, but a couple of truck-lengths short of victory.

Still, with stage points in both segments and a playoff spot already secured from Bristol, the No. 51 team leaves Loudon with momentum and a narrow lead over Corey Heim to start the round of eight.

Next up, the Roval at Charlotte.

“Man, the Round of Eight… this is where things get real,” McQueen said after the EJP 175.

“You’ve got the Roval, where one mistake sends you into the tires. Then Talladega, nobody controls anything there, you just hope you’re still pointed straight at the end. And Martinsville’s a madhouse every single time.”

He added: “These next three races are gonna test everything, our focus, our teamwork, our patience. But we’ve shown we can fight, and we’re not backing down now. If we make it to Phoenix, we’re gonna earn it.”
