not gonna lie, was in the feels for a minute back in the Dome. But we had work to do

Coastal (5-0), Clemson (4-1), Louisville (4-1), North Carolina (4-1), and Virginia (3-1) are all above Miami (3-2) in conference play. They already lost to us and Louisville and don't play any of the other three this season. So not only do they need to win out (very possible), but they need the other four to drop at least two more games to jump them.
On the off chance the cards fall in Miami's favor? Coach Vaughn will be there with his chain ready to hand out a THIRD BTA

Coastal Hands Miami Another L With Recruiting Victory

Conway, SC. - Coastal Carolina’s recent recruiting stretch has been a roller coaster — but it ended with a pair of fireworks that could reshape the program’s long-term future.
After suffering several high-profile setbacks — including losing No. 9 overall prospect DE Shawn Lanning (Charlotte, NC) to Georgia, No. 18 MLB James Ostergaard (Lake Oswego, OR) citing “fit issues,” and four-stars Tyreke Davis (LB, Raytown, MO) and Jameel Brown (QB, Fairless Hills, PA) committing to Ohio State — the Chanticleers landed their biggest prize yet.
Five-star quarterback Anthony Prude, the nation’s No. 1-ranked QB and the No. 23 overall player from Hialeah, Florida, announced his commitment to Coastal Carolina — choosing the Chanticleers over his hometown Miami Hurricanes in a dramatic, down-to-the-wire decision.
“Nah, not really. The guys on that field aren’t gonna be there when I’m suiting up as QB1,” Prude said when asked if Coastal’s 45–13 rout of Miami swayed him.
“Tell you what though — the way Coach Vaughn doesn’t duck any smoke? That’s what sold me. Whole nation saw his team back up that talk in Miami, and then again in that Clemson game. Watching how he fires those dudes up made me want to get out there myself.”
Prude was in attendance for Coastal’s 35–32 win over Clemson earlier this season, and while he didn’t commit on the spot, sources close to him said it was “Coastal’s race to lose” after that visit.
Though Fredrick Meredith is firmly entrenched as the starter, Prude’s timeline aligns perfectly for a developmental redshirt year followed by a potential QB1 battle as a sophomore.
“Ideally, he redshirts behind Meredith next season,” a source within the program said. “If Fred stays healthy and declares after his third year as a starter, that sets up perfectly for Prude to take over in Year 2.”
Scouting reports on Prude are glowing. A dynamic dual-threat with elite arm strength, touch, and pocket awareness, Prude has drawn comparisons to Bryce Underwood for his combination of poise and explosiveness.
“He’s got the arm talent, the accuracy, the ability to sense pressure — and when he takes off, defenses pay for it,” said one national recruiting analyst.
As if landing Prude weren’t enough, Coastal added his potential future running mate: five-star wide receiver Darin Best (Sumter, SC), the No. 11 overall prospect in the class. The two reportedly connected during their joint visit to Brooks Stadium for the Clemson game and have been in constant contact since.
Shortly after Prude’s commitment, Best announced his own decision on IG in a post that tagged his new quarterback:
“SCARY SZN ON THE TEAL SOON. @PrudeDude15 and ya boy gonna be like Brady2Moss on that field!”
Best is a long, fluid route runner with elite hands and after-catch ability — the type of receiver who can tilt coverages and turn 10-yard curls into touchdowns. His addition gives Coastal one of the most dynamic QB–WR duos in the 2032 class.
To cap off the surge, the Chanticleers also added commitments from 5-star cornerback Desmond Schraeder (No. 19 overall, Greenville, SC), 4-star middle linebacker Donald Ezeala (No. 42, Chicago, IL), and 4-star running back Terrence Fleming (No. 302, Cornelius, NC).

Oregon Transfer DT Tyrone Acker Latest To Face Discipline For Off-Field Issues
Conway, SC. - Coastal Carolina senior defensive tackle Tyrone Acker has been suspended for three games due to a violation of team and athletic department conduct policies, head coach Kade Vaughn announced Monday.
According to a source familiar with the situation, Acker was cited early this week by Conway Police for reckless driving and operating a vehicle without valid insurance. The incident did not result in any injuries or damage, and Acker was released at the scene.
“This was a lapse in judgment from someone who’s been a great presence for us since arriving,” Vaughn said in a statement. “Tyrone understands the standard here and has taken full accountability. He’ll serve his suspension and continue to be part of our program moving forward.”
Acker, a graduate transfer from Oregon, has been one of the anchors of Coastal’s defensive front this season, tallying 15 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks through eight games. His absence will be felt along a defensive line that’s been among the most disruptive in the ACC this fall. With the suspension Acker will the opportunity to play against his former club in their Week 10 showdown at Brooks Stadium.
Vaughn did not specify whether Acker would return for the team’s regular-season finale or postseason play, noting that “his reinstatement will depend on meeting internal expectations.”

ay when the #1 QB in the class chooses that "chickenshit" program instead of the one 10 minutes from his HS? We count that as a dub my man

Raleigh, NC. - The NC State Wolfpack’s night unraveled almost instantly — and Coastal Carolina never let them recover.
Before most fans had settled into their seats at Carter–Finley Stadium, the Chanticleers had already seized control. A holding penalty on the opening kickoff pinned the Wolfpack deep, a blown-up screen pass to HB Ezekiel Lokombo lost five more yards, and on third down, DT Jermaine Uzomah knifed through the line to drag QB Kona Quick down in the end zone for a safety.
Three plays, minus six yards, and Coastal was off to the races.
From there, it was all Kade Vaughn’s Chanticleers, who throttled NC State 41–13 behind a near-flawless performance from QB Fredrick Meredith (34-of-41, 335 yards, 4 TDs) and a versatile showcase from RB Justice Spear (169 rushing yards, 104 receiving yards).
“The plan was to start with the quick passing game and progress it from there,” explained OC Tino Sunseri. “Fred did a great job staying within the game plan — and once we softened them up, the deeper routes and run lanes opened in the second half.”
Meredith was surgical throughout, completing 19-of-23 passes in the first half before lighting up the Wolfpack for 198 yards and two touchdowns after halftime. His lone blemish came on a late interception, a desperation heave on third-and-long to burn clock.
Spear, meanwhile, stepped seamlessly into a larger receiving role after David Agudosi exited with a hip contusion, flashing the same hands and route polish that have made him one of the most complete backs in the country.
“We knew he had that kind of ability,” Vaughn said postgame. “We just try to keep him rested and fresh for when it matters most.”
Defensively, Coastal was suffocating once again. The Chanticleers allowed just 167 total yards, forced two turnovers, and added another safety in the fourth quarter when MLB Anthony Atogwe knifed through for a tackle-for-loss in the end zone.
The win moves Coastal Carolina to 9–0, setting up a massive top-10 clash at Brooks Stadium next week as the No. 1 Chanticleers host the No. 6 Oregon Ducks (8–0) — a matchup that could define the playoff race.

Meredith's late INT gave Quick time to get the only touchdown in the contest for the Wolfpack, this 26 yard strike to Armstrong across the middle.

Justice Spear did it all in Raleigh with 273 all purpose yards.
