I thought you were playing Texas State for the conference championship and was about to crash out.
Nah Arkansas State is in the lead but they have to beat Southern Miss this week to clinch it, if Miss wins they have. a chance with a tie breaker.

The defensive line is carrying the season. Those boys LIVE in the opposing back field.

I'm out of town for the weekend, but I played up to the conference championship. Going to post the game updates, there just won't be any game previews or weekly results for the last two games.

Conway, SC. - The streak lives on in Conway.

Coastal Carolina improved to 12–0 at home under Kade Vaughn with a dominant 58–24 win over Texas State on Senior Night, blending another suffocating defensive performance with an increasingly confident offensive showing.

Quarterback Roquan Barber wasted no time setting the tone, hitting freshman Trishtin Glass in stride on a go-route despite a torrential downpour to open the scoring. That strike kickstarted a 21–0 Chanticleer run to open the game.

Texas State found some rhythm late in the second quarter, putting up a pair of touchdowns — but each was immediately answered by the Chants, who tacked on a late safety to take full control before halftime.

The first-team offense returned with purpose after the break, tacking on two more third-quarter touchdowns before exiting the game. The final punch came on a 28-yard touchdown scramble from Barber, who dove headfirst into the end zone — up big, but far from finished.

Asked after the game why he risked the hit in a blowout, Barber didn’t hesitate.
“I’m still out here battling, proving I’m the right guy to lead this team. If I take my foot off the gas just because we’re up, how does that look to the rest of the locker room?”

The defense matched that energy. In a surprising twist, Aakil Washington surged past teammate LJ McCray to claim the Coastal Carolina single-season sack record. Washington logged 3.5 sacks on the night, pushing him to 15 on the year. McCray added another of his own to reach 14.

“It’s going to be a fun back-and-forth down the stretch,” said Washington with a grin postgame, nodding at McCray beside him. The two have now combined for 28 sacks this season, a mark that has wreaked havoc on opposing quarterbacks week after week.

The Chanticleers (11–0) will close out their regular season next week in Harrisonburg, looking to spoil James Madison’s Senior Night and cap a perfect regular season.

Elsewhere in the Sun Belt, Southern Miss kept their title hopes alive, knocking off Arkansas State to position themselves for a return to the conference championship. One more win next week, and the Golden Eagles will clinch a rematch with Coastal thanks to their head-to-head tiebreaker.

A late interception was the only blemish on another stellar outing by Roquan Barber.

undefeated on the Teal! Starting to look like you guys replaced the Smurf Turf as the toughest blue field to play on. Here's to hoping you finished the season strong and 12-0!

Harrisonburg, VA. - In one final display of dominance before the Championship Games begin, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers racked up eight more sacks and closed out the regular season with a 35–13 win over James Madison, securing a perfect 12-0 record.

Coastal jumped out to a commanding 28–0 lead after an 2nd half opening-drive fumble by Goose Crowder turned into a scoop-and-score by Nick James. But to their credit, the Dukes didn’t go quietly. A pair of interceptions by Roquan Barber helped James Madison claw back with 13 unanswered points, forcing the Chanticleers to dig in. With the momentum shifting and the Dukes threatening, Coastal shut the door for good on a nine-yard touchdown run by Bill Davis that sealed the deal.

The sack battle between teammates LJ McCray and Aakil Washington remains one of the most compelling subplots of this season, and it’ll carry into the postseason. For now, Washington holds the edge.

With 2.5 sacks on the night, Washington not only extended his school-record to 18.5 on the year but also surpassed Mike Green for the Sun Belt’s all-time single-season sack record. His milestone moment came early in the second half when he blew up Crowder for his 18th sack, forcing the fumble that set the tone for the rest of the 2nd half.

McCray wasn’t far behind, adding two more sacks of his own to close the regular season at 16.5. The friendly rivalry has fueled a defense that’s now brimming with confidence and production.

With the regular season in the books, Coastal Carolina now turns its attention to a Sun Belt Championship rematch with Southern Miss — and, if things go their way, a Cinderella playoff run that could put The Teal on the national stage.
