comments i am assuming is just the total number of comments in the thread for the week/all time
replies is just comments from other users?
unique commenters is pretty clear
so when i read 10 chapters of american sun and comment separately on each i'm boosting caesar's numbers big time

im curious to see the raw data too

I have worked through several iterations of my algorithm. The base statistics I gather from each threads are posts by the thread creator, comments made by other posters, replies to those comments from the thread creator, and the unique number of commenters in each thread. It became clear to me as I tried different solutions that going purely based on numbers the best way to measure a chise was engagement. Therefore I built my very simple formula off that engagement. Three items are used in the algorithm: comments, replies, and unique commenters. It is still likely that I might tweak the algorithm but I like where it's at for now. Each ranking is normalized between 1.000 and 0 similar to the BCS rankings and then the rankings are averaged to give a total score. Finally the scores are then sorted for the rankings.

Nope otherwise Xixak is perma #1. For real though I figured that audience interaction would be a good barometer instead of trying to decide how many posts without interaction was too much.
