This one is going to be over by halftime.
I really need the Sun Belt to step their game up - as much as I love dropping 70+ points on em we're going to need at least one more close game to get us ready for the playoff

San Marcos, TX. -One week after the news broke of an NCAA investigation into Coastal Carolina head coach Kade Vaughn, the Chanticleers answered the questions the only way they know how — by running Texas State out of their own stadium.

“Coach told us to let our play do the talking, and that’s exactly what we did,” said senior running back Bill Davis after the 73–10 demolition in San Marcos.

Vaughn wasn’t made available to the media due to the ongoing investigation, but quarterback Bryce Underwood echoed his teammate’s message.

“We know who we are, we know why we’re here, and we’ve just got to keep our minds on the game,” Underwood said. “One week at a time, one game at a time, one snap at a time. That’s been the message since the ESPN article came out. Y’all can keep trying to tear it down, but we yell CINO every day for a reason. We’re No. 1 baby, and we’ll keep proving the doubters wrong until they’re out of breath.”

Texas State fans didn’t shy away from the controversy, arriving with signs plastered with the now-infamous photo of Vaughn at The Borgata, along with oversized foam poker chips. The home crowd erupted when Alexander Edwards “mossed” Thorpe Award winner Trevor Holton, then shrugged off Robby Washington for a 54-yard touchdown on the opening drive.

It was the last celebration of the afternoon for the Bobcats. Coastal responded with 38 unanswered points before a goal-line stand forced Texas State to settle for a last-second field goal at the half.

The second half was even more lopsided. Underwood and the first-team offense stayed in until his 73-yard bomb to Dazmin James pushed the lead to 59–10. That touchdown was historic — Underwood’s sixth passing score of the night marked his 30th of the season, breaking the single-season program record with five regular-season games still remaining.

Following Underwood’s seventh total touchdown of the night, Vaughn finally turned to his reserves — who promptly added two more scores to cap the blowout.

Coastal Carolina (7–0) will stay on the road next weekend to face Sun Belt foe Georgia Southern (3–4), where more tongue-in-cheek signs aimed at Vaughn are all but guaranteed.

Underwood may get all of the headlines - but Bill Davis is the quiet engine that keeps the Chanticleers humming.

Down 17-7 the Bobcats were driving, until this blast by Trevor Holton forced the fumble. One play later and Trishtin Glass was cutting through the defense for a 49 yard score and the Chants never looked back.

Statesboro, GA. - As rumors continue to swirl around head coach Kade Vaughn — including allegations that he illegally funneled personal gambling winnings into Coastal Carolina’s NIL efforts — the Chanticleers are keeping their focus where it counts: on the scoreboard. And once again, the scoreboard was lopsided.

One week after dismantling Texas State 73–10, Coastal traveled to Statesboro and handed Georgia Southern a 63–0 drubbing, their most dominant performance of the season.

The Eagles’ home crowd came prepared, waving signs and heckling Vaughn with references to his now-infamous weekend at the Borgata poker tables. The jeers only fueled the fire. After Bryce Underwood hit Dazmin James for a deep touchdown on the opening drive, Vaughn turned toward the fans and quipped, “You can bet on that happening all night.”

“That might be why Coach isn’t talking to the media anymore,” James laughed when told about Vaughn’s retort. “But we’re here for it. Right now, it’s us against the world. They thought investigating us would tear us apart, but we ain’t ducking no smoke. Ten toes down, two fingers up, with Coach Vaughn.”

James, who transferred from Cal this offseason, continued his electric campaign, torching Georgia Southern’s secondary for 177 yards and four touchdowns from Underwood. The duo helped Coastal storm to a 42–0 halftime lead.

Unlike Georgia Southern, who emptied their bench to start the second half, Vaughn kept his starters in through the third quarter to make one more statement. Underwood delivered, finding Trishtin Glass for his seventh touchdown pass of the day before finally yielding to the backups.

With star running back Bill Davis resting a sore ankle, Michael Allen and Jevon Edwards each topped 100 rushing yards and added a score apiece to power the ground game. Underwood’s Heisman-caliber stat line — 292 passing yards, 133 rushing yards, and seven passing touchdowns — only tightened his grip on the national spotlight.

Coastal Carolina (8–0) will wrap up their three-game road trip next week at Old Dominion (1–7) before returning to Conway for a season-ending three-game homestand.

Mama, there goes that man.

What would be the final play of the afternoon for Southern QB Turner Helton was this crushing sack by Lugard Edokpayi.
