How many games can you keep winning ugly? Prude better turn it around or you won’t be winning anything this season.

the annoying thing is most of them are tipped passes that the CPU is grabbing off a deflection. I've tossed a couple with just stupid throws, but a tipped INT in the red zone where the WR falls down and the CB doesnt?

boy just unlucky - gotten his # drawn twice by the RNG
I think part of the problem is we've been on the road all year too, so once he makes a mistake he's cold and it makes every throw a gamble. We'll have a nice stretch of home games to finish the year and hopefully he'll find his groove
wins a win and we keep movin

Morgantown, WV. - It was another interception-laden outing for the Chanticleers’ offense, but when it mattered most, Coastal leaned on its ground game and closed the door on West Virginia for a 42–21 win for their third straight victory.
Don’t let the final score fool you, though. The Mountaineers were swinging until the final four minutes. After Wayne Trufant barreled in for his second rushing touchdown to tie the game, Coastal found itself in a full-on dogfight with a scrappy West Virginia squad refusing to go away.
“This is what championship ball clubs do, even on a night they’re not at their best,” Marcus Freeman said after the game. “They buckle their chin strap and grind out the victory.”
Anthony Prude responded with a methodical 10-play march that drained four minutes before Fredrick McCallum punched in his third touchdown of the afternoon. West Virginia had been sharp and turnover free for most of the night finally blinked. QB Matt Battles forced a curl route that MLB Cordell Marvin had smothered from the snap, gifting Coastal just its second interception of the season. That pick set up a four yard score by Chester Dukes.
Then the dam broke. On the ensuing kickoff, West Virginia coughed up the ball after a 25 yard return, and McCallum put the final nail in the coffin with his fourth touchdown.
Prude, meanwhile, tossed three more interceptions, bringing his season total to a bloated seven. Once again, OC Tommy Rees stepped in to defend his young quarterback.
“You guys keep pointing out the interceptions, and I’m going to keep pointing out the circumstances,” Rees said. “The first one is a drop on a jump ball, plain and simple, and a trailing linebacker cleans it up. That’s not on Ant.
“The second? Tipped at the line, and a delayed corner blitz puts a defender right under it. You could run that same play a thousand times and never get the same result.”
Prude’s third interception, early in the fourth quarter, was a bad read; the one pick Rees pinned on him, and it set up Trufant’s game-tying score before Coastal slammed the door.
“We keep winning ugly, with emphasis on winning,” Prude said with a smirk, before getting serious. “But I have to be better. Period. We’ve got lofty goals this year, and we can’t reach them if I’m handing the ball to the other team.”
Coastal Carolina finally returns to Brooks Stadium next week after opening with four straight on the road. The welcome-home moment will be short lived, though: instate rival Clemson arrives determined to end the Chanticleers’ five game streak against them.

Terrelle Bigsby with the heads up pick and score in the 1st quarter.

MLB Cordell Marvin simply boxed out the WR for this late INT to swing momentum.

Wayne Trufant made the most of his limited opportunities, breaking two tackles on his way to paydirt.

Rees doing his job defending his QB but how many "tipped" balls until people realize it's the QB's fault? How bad is the backup if he's not even getting a sniff?

Matchup With Clemson Looms As First Rivalry Test of Freeman Era
Conway, SC. - The Marcus Freeman era might’ve sputtered out of the gate with that 38–20 loss to his alma mater, but the engine has been running hot ever since. Coastal has ripped off three straight wins; two of them against ranked teams, and now all eyes are on a marquee in-state showdown with Clemson. And if you thought Freeman was going to play it cool in the lead-up, think again.
“Kade built this program on attitude, refusing to back down even when they weren’t the top dog in the state yet,” Freeman said earlier in the week. “And the guys we’re about to face were once the biggest dogs on the block. So no, I’m not going to say it’s ‘just another game.’ That would be a disservice to what was built here.
“Coastal is the King of the Carolinas and it’s up to us to defend it.”
For a coach normally known for being measured, the swagger was impossible to miss. It even carried over to the locker room, where players spent the week wearing mock crowns to drive home the message: this is a title worth protecting.
Freeman won’t be the only one watching closely. Three key recruits will be in Conway for his first official “Crown Defense,” including the No. 2 recruit in the entire country, free safety Marquez Henderson.
“I’m not doubting Coach Freeman, he’s proven himself,” Henderson said. “But this is one I need to see in person. If the Chanticleers still run things like they did under Coach Vaughn, I might be all in this weekend.”
Henderson, a Cornelius, North Carolina native, actually has Coastal ranked ahead of Clemson on his personal board. Saturday could either tighten that bond… or swing everything the other way. Joining Henderson at Brooks Stadium will be 4* HB Hasheem Orakpo (54th), who currently has Miami ranked ahead of Coastal, and 4* T Ryan Magoolaghan (104th), who also has Coastal ranked 2nd behind Tennessee.
And they're not the only ones who matter. Of Coastal’s 23 players on the “Big Board,” Clemson is the primary competition for 11 of them. Whoever walks out of Brooks Stadium with the win isn’t just earning ACC bragging rights, they’re loading up ammunition for the recruiting trail.
Freeman already has one cornerstone locked in with the commitment of 4-star MLB Rahim Jamerson out of Ellenwood, Georgia. But a win against the Tigers? That could turn his first class from promising… to historic.
