LB David Bean Suspended For Second Time Amid Personal Conduct Issues

Conway, SC. - Former four-star recruit David Bean has once again found himself in trouble just two seasons into his Coastal Carolina career. Bean, a sophomore linebacker from Kennesaw, Georgia, previously served a one-game suspension under former head coach Kade Vaughn last season after multiple unexcused absences from mandatory weight-training sessions while redshirting.

This time, new head coach Marcus Freeman issued a three-game suspension, citing Bean’s failure to attend mandatory positional meetings ahead of Coastal’s Week 3 matchup with Louisville.

“David has had some disciplinary issues previously, and that was taken into consideration with this suspension,” Freeman said, emphasizing that the decision came directly from him rather than Athletic Director Mike Buddie. “David is a talented player, but he needs to understand that this type of behavior is not permitted at a program with the aspirations of Coastal Carolina.”
