A/N: My old Playstation 4 I had since 2019 (My Brother had for a few years prior) lasted roughly 10 years. Right before Christmas it finally crashed out on me. I was given a much newer PS4 only a couple years old and was given a bunch of hand me down games. So, with a fresh start I decided to start a new story. I was given NHL 22 and with a much deeper Franchise Mode I present to you...

Blood in the Water... Volume II (Again) lol

From Western Conference Finals, to a drastic rebuild. Sharks enter panic mode?

Prologue- It's hard to believe just how fast San Jose General Manager Doug Wilson pressed the panic button in Northern California. In the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Sharks made a Cinderella run all the way to the Western Conference Finals losing to the St. Louis Blues in 6 Games. Along their playoff run they exercised the demons from a year ago knocking off their newly hated rival Vegas Golden Knights after an epic 3-1 Series comeback. They outlasted the Colorado Avalanche in Seven games to punch their ticket to the Western Conference Finals. After the clock struck midnight on Game 6, the Sharks plummeted to the bottom of the Pacific Division. Things got ugly in the Off-Season when longtime Captain Joe Pavelski felt disrespected and left for Dallas in Free Agency. Head Coach Peter DeBoer began butting heads with the Front Office. Erik Karlsson was given an 8-year extension while Pavelski was given the shaft which is why he left for the Lone Star State. A lot of issues over the Off-season left Sharks fans with an worse taste in their mouths for Doug Wilson. The longtime General Manager has failed every year to bring San Jose a Stanley Cup and fans patience has worn thin over the years.

It only got worse from here, during the 2019–20 season, with the Sharks at 15–16–2 and failing to win a game during their five-game road stretch, DeBoer and his staff were fired and the way Wilson fired DeBoer made Fans even more angry with the Franchise. Wilson fired DeBoer at his house on his day off. After DeBoer's firing, assistant coach Bob Boughner was named interim Head Coach and San Jose missed the Playoffs. Boughner was named permanent Coach on September 22, 2020. During this time, Wilson began pulling the plug. Pavelski was out the door. DeBoer left. Marleau left (Again). Thornton was gone. Martin Jones left.

The Sharks became mediocre just months after contending for the Western Conference. As we enter the 2021-2022 Season, the Sharks look to begin a rebuilding phase with Wilson behind the Desk despite the fans lack of patience, and Boughner behind the bench despite leading the Fins to back-to-back years of missing the Playoffs.

For many years the SAP Center awaited a Stanley Cup Championship. The Franchise is hungry for one. The Fans have been waiting since 1991. But the reality of it is, this season, San Jose has more questions than answers. Over the years, the Pacific Division alone has become a powerhouse. Vegas reloads, Edmonton is the cream of the crop, Anaheim and Los Angeles have proven to be contenders. Now, newly Seattle Kraken is looking to take the league by storm much like the Golden Knights did.

Things must change for San Jose and it's not by choice. It's by Doug Wilson's fault. The 2015-2016 Western Conference Final Champions Banner is collecting dust up in the rafters. The Division Champions Banner is years old. There's only dust and time wasted hanging above the ice inside. Gone are the great players like Joe Pavelski, Patrick Marleau, Joe Thornton, among countless others. The Man who took us to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time, Peter DeBoer was kicked to the curb. Gone are the great memories of Sharks Hockey. Now just a small core remain that are hoping to bring something that's eluded the Franchise. A Stanley Cup Championship.

Tomas Hertl, Brent Burns, Erik Karlsson, Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Logan Couture and others will look to lead the Sharks through the Western Conference gauntlet that awaits them. The Championship window slammed shut in 2019. No Cup. No parade. It's up to the newly rebuilt Sharks to open the window again.

A chance to build something new.

Because dynasties don’t begin with banners—they begin with patience, pain, and decisions no one applauds at the time. And somewhere between a rebuild year and a breakout season, the San Jose Sharks will decide who they are going to be next.

This isn’t the end of an era.

It’s the first page of the next one. 🦈

SHARKS fall flat, blown out by JETS 8-4...

RECAP 10/16/21

San Jose, CA- Connor Hellebuyck had 35 saves to help the Winnipeg Jets(2-0) blow out the rebuilding San Jose Sharks(0-1) inside the SAP Center Saturday night.

Sharks Netminder Adin Hill was under sieged from the opening puck drop allowing 8 Goals and 62 saves off 70 shots. Yes 70.

"It was just f****** embarrassing. No other words." Sharks Head Coach Bob Boughner stated.

Winnipeg(2-0) got on the board quickly as Kyle Connor(1) scored just 2 minutes in at the 17:49 mark of the first. Blake Wheeler(2) added one soon after and the Jets had a 2-0 lead.

"That fast start for us really got us going." Jets Head Coach Paul Maurice stated.

San Jose Alternate Captain Tomas Hertl(1) got the Fins on the board soon after. Mark Scheifele(1)scored.

"First period we were in it, we just kind of fell apart after that." Sharks Captain Logan Couture stated. 18 year Rookie Defenseman Sam Dickinson scored his first Career Goal that cut the Jets lead 3-2.

But the celebration was short as Dickinson took a vicious hit moments after his first goal that sent him back to the locker room at the 7:41 mark.

"Sam will be evaluated tomorrow. We're not sure at this time." Boughner added.

Erik Karlsson was called for slashing giving the Jets a Power Play. Their first of many. Blake Wheeler(3) scored on the Power Play. Nate Schmidt(1) scored on another one.

"I thought we did well on the extra Man advantage with how many chances we got." Maurice added.

Timo Meier(1) scored on a breakaway to make it 5-3 in favor of Winnipeg. Right after, Couture was called for Hooking giving the Jets another Power Play. Winnipeg was 2/3 at this point.

In the Third Period with Winnipeg(2-0) on yet another Power Play, Scheifele(2) scored to make it 6-3. Josh Morrisey(1) scored right after.

"All those Power Plays were just ridiculous. That's on us. We have to be much more disciplined then that. We really shot ourselves in the foot tonight." Boughner added.

Kyle Connor(2) scored on the final Power Play that gave Winnipeg a 8-3 lead. Kevin LaBanc(1) scored in the final 15 seconds with the game well out of reach.

In total, San Jose(0-1) allowed Winnipeg(2-0) to convert 4 of 7 on the Man Advantage tonight.

San Jose(0-1) will begin a 5 Game Road Trip on the East Coast with a 3 game stand in Canada. They will meet the Montreal Canadiens(0-3) on Tuesday night.

San Jose Sharks Head Coach Bob Boughner didn't hold back after tonight's blowout loss to the Winnipeg Jets on home ice.

"It was absolutely Fuc**ng embarrassing!" Boughner said minutes after the Sharks lost 8-4.

In the game, San Jose allowed 4 Power Play goals on 7 opportunities and Goaltender Adin Hill was attacked for 70 shots allowing 8 Goals.

"By far possibly the worst game I've seen this Team play since I've been here." Boughner added. "We have a long way to go before we get to where we can be a good Team. Tonight was just unacceptable and everyone in the locker room should be embarrassed."

The Sharks are set to begin a grueling 5 Game Road trip heading to Canada.

I'm a smidge confused, do you have Mack and those guys or are you rocking with the Karlsson-era Sharks?
