Sunderland Sign Julien Duranville from Inter for £12.8M

Sunderland found their Abdoullah Ba replacement as soon as the window opened, securing a £12.8M deal for Inter's 19 year old Belgian winger, Julien Duranville. He possesses electric pace and high potential and will fit in nicely behind Clarke and possibly become his replacement one day.

Sunderland completed a second deal on the opening day of the January window, bringing in English left-back Lewis Hall from Napoli for a small £8M fee. The 21 year old is expected to come in as an understudy to Leif Davis, and possesses a lot of the same attributes as the Black Cats' #3. This is an interesting coup for Sunderland as Hall has previously played for rival club, Newcastle as recently as 2023.

Sunderland make their biggest transfer yet of the window, bringing in Noni Madueke from Chelsea. The 23 year old right winger has been underutilized at the London club and has been itching for an opportunity to start. He'll get that at Sunderland as Rodgers plans to give him the #7 jersey and slot him into the starting XI immediately after the departure of Amad Diallo. He is an absolutely rapid winger who will fit in perfectly to the team's new system.

Sunderland Sign Oliver Skipp from Brentford for £28M

In a bid to shore up defensive midfield, Sunderland have signed Oliver Skipp from Brentford. The 25 year old English CDM will slot right into the starting lineup and provide some leadership, experience and excellent ball winning ability. Rodgers is excited about the prospect of pairing him with Adam Wharton in the pivot to create a nice blend of finesse skill on the ball in that position and pure aggression and work rate.

Adil Aouchiche Departs for Bournemouth

Adil Aouchiche recently got into a row with Brendan Rodgers, making the situation untenable for him at the club. The 23 year old French attacking midfielder put in a transfer request and that has been granted with him securing a £17.5M move to Bournemouth.

Sunderland Snag Ivan Toney for £18.6M

Sunderland have been using Jobe Bellingham as their striker since switching to the 4-2-3-1 system, but haven't really had a viable replacement option for him. They've done one better by going and getting Ivan Toney from Celta Vigo for £18.6M. Toney has previously scored 20 goals in the Premier League and at 29 years old is an experienced player who can help Sunderland down the stretch of the season and in their cup competitions going forward.
