The Lakers opened the game with Austin Reaves knocking down a three-pointer from the wing and Rui Hachimura followed that up with an impressive contested dunk as the Lakers took an early 5-0 lead. James Harden first three-pointer of the night tied the game 8-8. Austin Reaves was aggressive offensively to start this game, gave the Lakers a 12-11 lead, hitting a jumper from the left side. The Clippers retook the lead as part of a 8-0 run, giving them a seven-point lead, 19-12. A slam dunk by Cam Reddish brought the Lakers to within three-points, 22-19. Kawhi Leonard scored five of the Clippers next seven points, increasing their lead to ten, 29-19. Spencer Dinwiddie ended the quarter knocking down back-to-back three-pointers, but the Lakers still trailed 30-27.

The Lakers opened up the second quarter on a 10-2 run, giving them a five-point lead 37-32. Norman Powell gave the Clippers back the lead after scoring six straight points, 38-37. Anthony Davis scored seven points during a 12-2 run by the Lakers as they took their largest lead of the game at that point, 49-40. The Lakers lead reached double-digits following an Anthony Davis dunk, 58-48. The Clippers ended the quarter on an 11-2 run, but the Lakers held a one-point lead at the half, 60-59.

The thrid quarter was back and forth as both teams tried to impose their will on each other. LeBron James knocked down a three-pointer, giving the Lakers a six-point lead early in the quarter, 68-62. James Harden hit a three-pointer that tied the game up 70-70. Spencer Dinwiddie knocked in another three-pointer, giving the Lakers a 77-72 lead, but the Clippers took an 80-77 lead on an 8-0 run just as the quarter was coming to a close. Cam Reddish hit a three-pointer with fifty three seconds left that tied the game 80-80 heading into the fourth quarter.

With the game tied up 95-95, the Lakers went on a 10-2 run capped off by a thunderous dunk from Anthony Davis, as the Lakers took a 105-97 lead. With time still remaining the Clippers responded with a 7-0 run of their own, cutting the Lakers lead to just one after Tre Mann knocked down a corner three-pointer, 105-104. D'Angelo Russell knocked down two free throws making it a three-point game, 109-106. Anthony Davis was fouled and missed both free throws, but Rui Hachimura stole the ball from Kawhi Leonard who committed an intentional foul with twelve seconds left on the clock. Hachimura hit both free throws, giving the Lakers a five-point lead that they would hold onto and defeat the Clippers by the final score of 111-106.
