The Warriors were getting to the basket with ease to begin the game, but it was also their outside shooting that put them out in front early. Wiggins, Curry and Podziemski all hit three-pointers during the first quarter that gave the Warriors a 17-6 lead. Draymond Green joined that group when he knocked down a three-pointer and was fouled by Anthony Davis. Green's four-point play put the Warriors back up by ten, 21-11. Anthony Davis was the focal point of the Lakers offense to start the game. With no LeBron James, it was vitale for Davis to get off to a quick start and he did. Davis finished the quarter scoring 15 of the Lakers 21 points, but the Warriors held a ten-point lead, 31-21.
