Lakers show collective effort in victory over Knicks

1st Quarter
From the moment that Anthony Davis got his first touch of the night, knocking down a turnaround jumper it just felt like tonight was going to be special and the Lakers, more importantly Anthony Davis did just that. Back-to-back three-pointers by Anthony Davis and Taurean Prince gave the Lakers a commanding ten-point lead in the first quarter, 16-6. Julius Randle at one point scored seven straight points, cutting the Lakers lead down to single-digits, 27-21. Austin Reaves three-pointer before the end of the quarter pushed the Lakers lead back up to fourteen, 37-23.
2nd Quarter
During the second quarter, the Knicks were more aggressive, but that didn't seem to matter that much. The Lakers continued to hold a double-digit lead throughout including going up by as many as eighteen points, 53-35 after LeBron James knocked down a pair of three-pointers. Julius Randle cut the Lakers lead down to thirteen, 60-47, but the Lakers held firm and took a 64-49 lead into halftime.
3rd Quarter
The Lakers extended their lead to a game-high twenty-three points several times in the third quarter. Anthony Davis' three-point play after being fouled and hitting the jumper gave the Lakers a 76-53 lead. Minutes later, Austin Reaves hit a three-pointer giving the Lakers an 81-58 lead. The Lakers outscored the Knicks by seven points in the third, holding strong to an 85-63 lead.
4th Quarter
The Knicks started the fourth quarter on an 11-0 run to cut the Lakers lead down to ten, 85-75. The Knicks got the Lakers lead down to single-digits when Donte DiVincenzo knocked down a three-pointer, 90-83. The Lakers responded getting the lead back to ten before the Knicks cut it back down to seven, but that was as close as the Knicks would get for the rest of the game. Anthony Davis put his mark on the game with the final seconds winding down and the shot clock about to expire, throwing down a monsterous dunk as the Lakers defeated the Knicks 115-104.
